Spring Hill Medical Centre

HOW DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Appointments may be made by telephoning or calling into the surgery. Some routine appointments may be made up to three months in advance, whilst others are only available up to 48 hours in advance. If all the routine appointments are taken up and you need to see a doctor quite quickly, say, within a couple of hours, you can ask for a ‘need to be seen’ appointment which will be facilitated the same day.

If, due to work circumstances, you are unable to come to the surgery for a routine appointment between 8.30am - 5.30pm, you can take advantage of our extended appointments after 5.30pm. You can ask the receptionist to arrange this for you. If you simply wish to speak to a doctor or nurse on the telephone, you can also ask the receptionist to arrange this for you.

HOW DO I...
CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT?

If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible. This will enable another patient to make use of that appointment. Regrettably, due to the large number of patients who fail to keep their appointments, the practice has introduced a policy whereby those patients will be written to and reminded of their obligations. If they fail to attend three times or more in a six-month period, they will be removed from the practice list.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN A HOME VISIT?

If you are unable to attend the surgery on medical grounds, you may wish to ask the doctor to see you at home. Please don't ask the doctor to call unless the patient is genuinely too ill to come to the surgery. Please contact the surgery before 10.00am. In an emergency, please ring any time for fuller advice.

HOW DO I...
MAKE A COMMENT OR SUGGESTION?

We are happy to accept and consider comments and suggestions from our patients. Please present your views in writing at reception.
